April Callahan is a speaker, author, mentor, CEO, and founder of A&L Medical Billing and Coding Consulting; a specialty engineered toward providing world-class service to the healthcare industry.  Properly reputed as an expert in Billing, Coding, Auditing, Data Quality, and while also, having a thorough understanding of Health Information Management (HIM) technology systems, April provides ethical data solutions to her clients with outstanding results. She currently serves as a Medical Coding Trainer, formulating training plans for individuals/groups helping physicians with clinical documentation for an Acute Care Inpatient and Outpatient Medical Treatment Facility, including the provision of education to coding staff, billers, physicians, and other healthcare groups. Having acquired over 16 years of experience in Health Information Management (HIM), while also establishing procurement as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) from The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Certified Professional Coding- Instructor (CPC-I), Licensed Education Provider; all from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) April champions the achievement of owning a business functioned from servant leadership without the compromise of a surpassing knowledge in her field. Having a clear and concise respect for higher education, April also holds a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management from the American InterContinental University of Hoffman Estates, IL.
